Abstract

This app is the Windows Phone 7 version of the Group Policy Search - Browser version.

With the Group Policy Search ("GPS") you can search for Group Policy Objects. This means, if you do not know about the existence of a GPO or you know that there is one, but you don't remember where exactly you can find it, the GPS is the app you need.
This does not mean that you search for already set GPOs in your environment (for this you can use existent mechanisms in GPEdit.msc), but for GPOs which might be the right one for your desires.

Usage

Startup

You will see the GPS entry like this:


This is the first screen you will see:


Now you can enter your search string(s):


After hitting the search button or "ENTER" on the keyboard, it will be searched on the GPS Cloudservice for your string. Then you will see your results:


You can scroll down and up or just tap ("Click") or double tap on one of the results, then the details of the selected policy are displayed:


As this is a "panorama app", you can just navigate/scroll to the right or left, to the left you will find the results list again, to the right you will get the explanation of the currently selected result:


You have probably noticed the application bar in the result view:

There you can
  1. Email the current result to a friend or colleague
  2. Send a SMS with the link to the current result to a friend or colleague
  3. Vote for this app in the marketplace (if you like this app, please vote!)
  4. Have a look onto the "about" screen
